3D Systems sPro 230

$1.00

3D print large, high quality, durable nylon or composite parts at high throughput with the sPro 230 Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printer. Its combination of production speed, excellent part quality, and a build volume of 550 x 550 x 750 mm makes the sPro 230 ideal for volume production of 3D printed small to medium-sized parts, as well as the production of large parts in one single piece (up to 30 in/750 mm long), reducing part weaknesses associated with attachment points.

Large Capacity Production of Thermoplastic Parts

Building large parts up 750 mm in one piece increases part strength, as attachment points can present a weakness in a part. Building the part in one piece also frees additional resources that would be occupied with the assembly of the different segments. The sPro™ 230 is also ideal for the volume production of 3D printed small to medium-sized parts.

Impact-Resistant, Durable Parts

Our customers count on this robust SLS printer for the toughest applications, year after year. It offers far superior living hinges, snap-fit, and other mechanical joints than any other technology. With a broad range of DuraForm® production-grade nylon materials to match your requirements, the sPro 230 produces strong parts with high thermal and chemical resistance. And it is the most economical thermoplastic solution for large quantities of parts.

Type:
N/A

Materials:

  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology

Build Volume

  • Metric: 550 x 550 x 750 mm
  • US: 22 x 22 x 30 in

Powder: With the powder printing process, the printer heats up to just near the melting point of whatever powder material you choose. Based on your model, a very fine layer of this powder is then spread layer upon layer, while a laser beam focuses on sintering together the necessary areas that will create the object.

  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) materials are supplied in powdered forms. During the manufacturing process these powders are fused by a pulsed laser beam. This allows creation of durable parts with complicated geometries and can be used to obtain early prototypes, wind tunnel models or casting patterns. Resulting parts have porous surfaces, but this can be fixed with finishing if needed. SLS is rather expensive, as it is necessary to maintain strict temperatures throughout fabrication phases. SLS is used for prototyping and small batch production of functional plastic parts with good mechanical properties.
  • DMLS/SLM or direct metal laser sintering differs from SLS mostly by ability to control the porous properties of produced parts as material is not burning fused but rather melted into homogeneous structures. SMLS/SLM produces high performance, end-use metal 3D printed parts for applications in aerospace, automotive, industrial and medical. Selective Laser Melting (SLM) Selective Laser Melting (SLM) uses a laser to scan and selectively fuse metal powder particles, bonding them together layer-by-layer.”
